Sales Price for 04 SEEG?
« on: August 27, 2004, 04:22:45 PM »

I'm THINKING about selling my 04 SEEG (cobalt blue / starlight black) and would like some input from you, the experts, as to what a fair selling price is for this bike.

I'm curious about this, too.  Sacramento HD is just about finished with my bike and then it will go on the showroom floor for sale.  I'm curious to see what they say it should go for.

You have a few more mods than I do.  But we all know that you never get your money back out of the modifications or add ons.  You're lucky if you get even half that value back.  I think that because they were such a high demand CVO that they should hold their value pretty good and especially now that they don't have to wait five or six months!

You might get better input with some pix, or even a buyer

I agree that it is priced too low would ask $32,000.  You can always sell for less but its hard to ask for more.

Be careful of using eBay for benchmarks on fair market values.  I recently had a car on there that only bid to $8,201 (reserve not met).  I subsequently sold the car to someone who was watching the auction for $12,000.

Though you have photos, I think the sight-unseen aspect of eBay tends to keep the bidding on the low side for higher ticket items such as vehicles.  Of course, there are always exceptions but my experience has found this to be the general rule.  Once the folks who were interested in my car saw it in person, they did not hesitate to purchase the car for the selling price, but commented that they never would've been comfortable going that high on the car without seeing it first.

I guess what I'm saying, MoChrome, is if you're seeing them bid to the high-$20's, you can probably get more than that for yours.  All it takes it the right buyer.  Plus, I've always subscribed to the notion of starting high and going lower later, if you have to.

Thanks guys for your input. As I mentioned in the orginal  post, I'm just thinking about selling my bike and was curious about the value of used SEEGs.  I'll probably wait a while before deciding for sure. The bike is paid for, tag and insurance is paid through next summer and I have no immediate need for the money.

I used to have a Mustang convertible which I sold about four years ago. I haven't really missed it until this year. But I will admit I put more miles on the SEEG during a two week trip than I did the Mustang the entire seven years that I owned it :)

My Experience on Ebay, and  I have had 80 + transactions is that as long as there is a Reserve not met clause on it You will always get People/Dreamers bidding. On the other hand Put the item up with No Reserve  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] and that will seperate the BS from the Buckwheat. You will only get the Serious Buyers.....  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I put a 735.00  bid on a tourpack that is on there right now and I had some moran put 2 bids in, He Passed My bid to expose it and then retract his bids all together.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Ebay used to be Fun.......Ride On, Dave

I hear ya about ebay.  I saw the tour pak you're bidding on earlier today and posted a link to it in this forum.  Keep in mind that you can order one from one of the 20% off dealers (I bought mine from Hales HD) for around $750-800. Chicago HD also sells for 20% off... actually they are the ones selling the SEEG tour pak on ebay.  The downside is that you may have to wait a while. It took almost three months for HD to ship mine after placing the order.

M o Chrome, Thats actually what I did . I bid  $735 on it figuring less 20% of the price. then shipping. It might be worth a couple bucks more for the wait to order....But again I been on Ebay since it's begining and it is hard to find a deal anymore....... [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  My Opinion. Ride On [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] s/e dave

I know this is an old posting, but I think this fits. I just saw a black and blue SEEG in my Illinois Auto & RV trader magazine with an asking price of $27,995. It looks to be bone stock. They claim it only has 245 miles. It is at the Schaumburg Honda and Suzuki dealership. 800-742-2116 if anyone is interested. The only reason I am posting this is because I know some of you are curious about how well they are holding their value.
