Another option for windsheilds are the ones made by Rifle.  Here is a photo of their offering in amber tint and 9 inch height.  Their windsheilds are made of Lucite rather than Lexan.  Lucite is much harder than Lexan so it resists scratches better.  The color is imbedded in the material, not just a surface tint.  Scratches can be polished out.

Here is a photo of the edge of the Rifle windsheild.  It comes polished smooth.  Rifles prices are on their website at Rifle.com and are about $110 plus shipping plus applicable taxes.  By the way, this windsheild is much less flexible than the H-D original.

Nice info. on the wind shields!!   I polished mine after each cut, smooth as glass but hated the black line.  I did it w/ an ancient indian "secret", a small piece of of short nap carpet moved back and forth vigorously to create heat.  I'll check into the links to see if any of the before mentioned companys will bevel/back-cut the top.

I pick up the 05' SEEG in 13hrs after it was " checked all specs. and adjusted/fixed what was out of specs"  And the good news..........I'll hear from HD on Tuesday what they found and did............... [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Till' then, I think I'll keep her under 105..............ride safe all!

I polished the edges of mine also, using a different ancient indian secret method...  Light sanding to get the saw marks smoothed out with 220 sandpaper and then a quick glazing over the top with the propane torch.  Much faster, crystal clear edges, no tired elbow...  (I've out grown my fondness for that repetitive motion action on my elbows...) I'm 6'2" and hated the stock set-up, so I added the running board extensions that moved my big feet [size 14] outward about 1.5",  a longer EZ brake and tossed the heal shifter.   It's alot better but still no room for my boots.  I also tossed the stock windshield and went for a 12" one that has been cut down 3 times to 8.5" and will be cut again...then I'll order one that heigth, probably tinted red.  I have been playing w/ beveling the cut so theres no black line at the top of windshield and it works!!

PS. The bike is at the big HD shop and the field tech. is checking everything to see what might be causing the 105 mph "dance".   I should hear tonight or tomorrow.......... [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
Ride safe all..............

If you're wanting a 12" red tinted wind screen I've got a Memphis Shades piece I'll make you a good deal on.  I can't use.  Either it's too tall or I'm too short.
