If you gotta spend money, it might as well be with one someone like Jenni.  She's the best! :2vrolijk_21:

Coming in late on this one, but are they (Charlies) also giving members a discount?  I order a boat load of stuff through Chicago, but I'm not opposed to using someone who helps the board.

Is there a vendor discount thread for Jenni and the folks at her store?

Nah, they do 20% just like Chicago.  I've just had tremendously better service through the years with Jenni, first when she was at Hale's H-D in Ohio and now at Charlie's.  I guess it's just all in who you feel better working with.

There is a thread that contains dealers that offer discounts along w/some other manufactorers contact info here - Vendor, Mftr or Support Points of Contact. This thread is also one of the threads that is in Sticky Threads - Find Sticky Threads Here... in the  Vendor and Customer Service Reports board.

Just realized a mea culpa.  20% off a seat that sells for $500 and no freight means buying it for $400.  That eBay seat was $275 plus freight for a total $300 or so.  That's a savings for sure.  Not sure if it's enough to justify not just getting a new one though....  :nixweiss:

An extended warranty is much more valuable to an Ultra Classic ower (or other Glide owner) just because of all the extra electrical equip. and CB radio and it does cover more than just the motor.  Mine has more than paid for itself on the last two baggers.

Thanks dOOd.  I was not aware of that thread.  I'll use Jenni on my next order.

I paid 1800 for both

That was a good deal.  I spoke w/Perry of Chicago H-D's Glenview location this morning & he quoted $1,644 for the 7-yr. & $299 for the tire/wheel option.  He said it was lowest priced when purchased within 90-days of original purchase of bike.  The dealer I purchased the bike from was considerably higher at $1,800 & $400+.  Got to shop around.

Well guys..........here's some interesting news.  The pricing on extended warranties is all over the board.  It took me about 4 phone calls to different dealerships around the nation to get the best offer.  Once I got that, I started calling around locally and found that everyone was willing to price match.  Then went back to the dealer (who I was purchasing the bike from) and long and behold.......they could match the price.  Funny, had I not done my homework........"that was the best price they could offer".....even with purchasing a $30k bike.  What a crock!!

The long and short of it..........I got a 7year with wheel and tire for $1400.  It's amazing what you can do with just a little homework.  Don't take the dealer's first offer...........they're out to take you for as much as they can!!!!

Congratulations in looking around.  It is the same thing at the car places ----- you work your mind to the bone to get the best price on the car, then you just roll over buying protections - under car, upholstery, adding lo-jack, 3M paint protection, XM radio - etc. without haggling, cause you get tired and you are mad at yourself for not thinking to know what those little extras cost when you came in in the first place. Unless you are paying cash up front, it all amounts to pennies a month, and who cares, right?
Of course your dealership is going to sell it to you for the highest price. They are businessmen first.  I mean, the salesmen is not your brother or your or brother-in-law.

I think the winds are starting to change a bit, but when I bought my bike there was a large premium on it at the local HD shop.  Because I knew about the premium, I told them they could stuff it and I just phoned around till I found another shop who'd sell at MSRP.  Then I triangluated those shops - there were several - and picked one that 1. had a bike and 2. were the closest to my home.

It is all about homework.  So glad you did yours.
