HARLEY SHOP IN LONDON
« on: June 18, 2005, 01:13:55 PM »

On the way back from my R&R in the US I had a 11 hour layover in London. Guess where I went?I caught a cab and found the closest harley shop. I went to downtown London to Warrs Harley- Davidson . They claim to be the oldest Harley shop in all of Europe. They have been around since 1924. It was a nice shop with lots of bikes. Lots of the aniversay fat boys. No CVOs. The salesman said when they had a FLHTCSE2 it sold for over $ 50,000.00 US. The dealer tee shirts go for close to $ 50.00 a piece. One hat goes for $38.00. Key chains were $20.00 and pins went for $ 13.00. Theres nothing inexpensive in that place. The cab ride was $100.00 one way from the airport. Ouch!  [smiley=shocked2.gif] I am glad i live in the US.Things are still a little cheaper it seems than the rest of the world.

Maverick, I have always taken the underground from Heathrow to downtown then use the double-deckers to get around to stuff that's not within walking distance.  I do this even when I have a car, 'cause parking is not cheap downtown, either.  You are right, nothing is cheap over there, but when you have $5.00 a gallon gas (or more), I guess it's all relative.

I wonder what are the chances that the SEEG they sold was Tony - www.1700cc.co.uk's? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  Although, comeo to think of it, I think he got his in Wolverhampton.
