Read the comments.  How did they know I was an overweight, balding, pot bellied, white guy with deteriorating reflexes who likes loud pipes, and trying to compensate for a small penis or lack of testosterone?  I could only get through about half of them before I gave up.  I'd bet that I'm a lot happier person than many who posted.

Oh, and I forgot, Harleys's are as technologically competent as as 1950's era pickups to say nothing of the fact most are ridden by boomers with too much money or rednecks.  Aggggghhh!!!

They say that a motorcycle is a luxury item  :soapbox: I lived 40 years, making Scarface's riding in a box! Its time that I sit in the lap of luxury :multi: :2vrolijk_08: . If you don't want to ride a bike fine. I wont infringe on your right to be strapped in. That being said, keep your opinions to your self, and SHUT YOUR YAMMERING SKULL CAGE!!!

I read about 100 of the comments before I just gave up.   It's a good thing your not allowed to shoot stupid people.  cause I'd go broke on the cost of the ammo I'd be buying.

just confirms what I tell everyone I meet thats fairly new to riding." RIDE LIKE EVERYONE OUT THERE IS TRYING TO KILL YOU"

9:46 am Have you checked the prices of (Harley)Bikes, they cost more than half the economy cars in the market.

These are NOT commuting alternatives, scooters in inner cities might be, but motorcycles are a true nuisance.

Wonder if Satish has any exta cow dung we could smear on our heads? :P

I actually love the NYT, but this was a bad article. Awful mix of facts and fiction. I wonder how it got there in the first place. And then the comments: Wow, how ignorant these people are. Makes me think of that "If I would have to explain, you wouldn't understand" phrase.

Can you imagine what could be piled on top of an Ultra where Satish is from?  12 people two goats, 8 chickens and a cow.

This is about the only post on the NYT thread I can actually agree with .... unbelievable how much hatred there is out there .... but then again, this is the NY Times crowd we're talking about here .... "consider the source" is my best advice.  Sorry to disagree with you here Sportygordy but this paper isn't suitable to line the cat box.  (Most of) the readers are a reflection of this paper's huge biases.  I quit reading the Times about 8 years ago, it just got to be more than I could take.

11:30 am What is the matter with some of you people? Can’t a man still have some fun doing something other than just being a tightass? How much do people spend on golf? I understand that more money is spent on golf than just about any other hobby… I’ve had a power boat for 15 years, and it cost me over $3,000 a year just for slip, storage and insurance. It gets one and a half miles to the gallon, and if I want to put some paint or varnish on, well that is $30 per quart. So, compare that to my Harley. It gets 40 to 50 mpg, storage is free, no slip fees, insurance is cheap (I have a good driving record), it’s easy to clean and oh, did I mention that it’s fun to ride? Needless to say, I’m doing more riding than boating these days. You people need to get a life…
