This is about the only post on the NYT thread I can actually agree with .... unbelievable how much hatred there is out there .... but then again, this is the NY Times crowd we're talking about here .... "consider the source" is my best advice. Sorry to disagree with you here Sportygordy but this paper isn't suitable to line the cat box. (Most of) the readers are a reflection of this paper's huge biases. I quit reading the Times about 8 years ago, it just got to be more than I could take.

11:30 am What is the matter with some of you people? Can’t a man still have some fun doing something other than just being a tightass? How much do people spend on golf? I understand that more money is spent on golf than just about any other hobby… I’ve had a power boat for 15 years, and it cost me over $3,000 a year just for slip, storage and insurance. It gets one and a half miles to the gallon, and if I want to put some paint or varnish on, well that is $30 per quart. So, compare that to my Harley. It gets 40 to 50 mpg, storage is free, no slip fees, insurance is cheap (I have a good driving record), it’s easy to clean and oh, did I mention that it’s fun to ride? Needless to say, I’m doing more riding than boating these days. You people need to get a life…
