By buddy was at Sturgis and informed me that he saw a chrome, gas tank lid for touring models that incorporated a holder for a Garmin Zumo unit?  Said it was a simple replcaement of the stock lid/cover with this GPS holder.  Was he drunk when he saw this, or is it a reality?  I would love to move my Zumo off my handlebars and put it in the center for ease of visibility and to keep the bars clean.

Anyone seen or heard of this?  Link?

Seen this before.  Looks like a good idea, but I don't think it is for me. 
You would have to allow some slack in your power and audio cable for when you open the fuel door.

Yeah, I saw one once which is why I remembered it being a Kuryakyn part.  But it's not my cup of tea.

In reading the fine print, it does not say it will fit an 08 model, most likely due to the new tank design.  Also, the 08's have the pain in the arse locking cap, which I find very annoying having to take out the key for every fill up.

Appreciate the link.  I would use it for long trips and then put the stock cap back on when I return.  I'll have to keep checking if they update it for the newer models.

Didn't like the Kuryakyn mount. Wires look like chit. I am getting rid of my ram mount. Made up a different mount . Once I Install it I'll post some pictures. THE MUFFMAN

Thanks for the link.  I have been looking for this as well.  My dealer and I looked it up a few months ago and it said it would not fit the 2008 models due to the new design of the tank.  I wonder if this is new or we just missed it.  I'll look into it.  Appreciate the guideance.

Not a prob. My '09 came w/ the non - keyed push button. Works fine. I've had the keyed model previously and the lock on both eventually failed.

The Kuryakan part does NOT fit the new 08 six gallon tanks. The fuel door is about 1/4" larger, to go with the larger tank.

My 08 did not come with a locking fuel door, just a push button to open it up

Perhaps the locking caps were just on non cvo's, and/or changed later in the production cycle due to customer complaints.
