question regarding XM radio for 04 SEEG
« on: May 15, 2008, 10:57:31 AM »

I have added XM roady II to my SEEG because harley does not offer any radio upgrade.  Does anyone know of an after market upgrade that is plug and play with XM.  Quality of sound throught the FM modulator is poor at best. :-\

Can't you play it thru the auxillary port in front of radio?  Don't know, trying to learn like you.

Don't really know--wanted to keep aux port free.  Don't remember why either.

I think if you add a GPS like a 550 in the future, you hook it to the aux port and then can play the XM or MP3's thru the Zumo.

For now, hook in to the aux port, toggle to auxillary and see how it does.   :nixweiss:

i have a kit that jm corp offered that gets sandwiched between the inner and outer fairing.it works with the delphi sky-fi and works really well.   the kit had an fm modulator and you also can tune the sky-fi to a station like 88.1.  i get plenty of volume and i'm not going thru the auxilary jack either.     not sure if jm still sells that xm kit any longer.   maybe avail on e-bay possibly.

I do with my Garmin 2730 (it has XM).  It actually sounds better than the FM.  I did have to get one of those more expensive gold plated cables, though.
