Race Tuner Rev Limiter
« on: June 20, 2005, 10:34:04 PM »

Anyone know if the race tuner has an adjustable rev-limiter?  And, if it does, why would mine be at the stock setting of 5200 rpms?  Got in a sticky situation this weekend, passing.  The rev limiter kicked in while I was still in the sweet spot of the power.  Since the bike is new, wasn't expecting that, especially when my EVO kicked out at 6500 rpms.
Anyone got some info on this?  Running Rhinehart true duals, RT, Screamin' Eagle Breather kit, 6 spd [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Yes, your rev limiter can be kicked out with a Race Tuner.  I think mine is set at 6,500.

Needs to be remapped after break-in.  Then no more than 5800.  Over that is a waste on a 103.

The bike comes stock at 5800 rpm (rev limited).   The base maps that are created with a tuner are at 6200.   (note  *** they can be set higher, but will you benefit from it  ***)

There are few very few people on this site with a motor that will produce power beyond on 6000 rpm.   You can see this for yourself by looking at the dyno runs.  Most are on the the downside of power after maybe 5800 to 6k depending on the cam.

If you install the race tuner and get the bike tuned for the rev limit can be set at whatever you like.

Best Wishes,
