Braided Stainless Fuel Line - CUSE3
« on: September 29, 2008, 12:09:06 PM »

Has anyone found a replacement SS braided fuel line for the 2008 CUSE3?  I mistakenly bought the 63020-04 thinking it would fit... that's a $40 mistake.

By the way if anyone is looking to purchase a HD 63020-04 braided SS fuel line contact me.

Did the bigger tanks get a different (longer?) fuel line.  Even though that line you mentioned is advertised as Dyna-only it does work on the prior Delphi equipped touring models.

The 63020-04 will connect to the tank but will not connect to the fuel rail.  Total different fitting.  My current line uses a straight end fitting with 2 O-rings to the fuel rail.  Where as the 63020-04 has a clip type end.

This piece fits my 07 SEUC fine (even though the description states "Dyna") - but I believe (was told by a friend with an 08) that it does not fit 08 or 09's.

It definitely will not fit the CUSE3.  Had my bike torn down on Friday evening figuring that one out.  All I had to do was consult my service manual before the purchase and subsequent tear down and I would have been wiser and wealthier man.

A guy just gets so excited buying chrome and dress up goodies you tend to loose your perspective.

IBM, at least you guinea-pigged it out so others with 08 and newer bikes will know.  That's a shame too as it's a nice and simple upgrade that does make a real improvement in apearance.  To add insult to injury it looks like you paid full MSRP for the line too.

Sorry it didn't work for you.  As these things go though I'm sure others here (though certainly never me  ) have done far stupider more expensive mistakes :2vrolijk_21: .

Yep, full price.  Bought it at a dealer on my way back from the airport Friday.  Live and learn I guess.

I'd still like to find a line to fit.  I believe I got the idea from seeing your scooter with the chrome tank cover and the braided SS line.  Surely there's one of these lines out there from off the shelf.  Last option is custom made.

Always found it odd that neither Harley nor the aftermarket ever offered a braided line that they admitted would fit the touring bikes.  It's such a large market and they actually had the line; just didn't have the fitment complete.

The aftermarket never bit on that one at all.  If you're going to have a hydraulic shop build a line the new one you've got isn't a total waste.  Fitting from one they might use again.
