Thanks for the pic Brian. Are they the same sideplates as Tim's? Would I just need the taller sissy bar with rack setup. Just interchange the 2? ;)

Hoist!

Yeah, man.  Just take the screws out and the backrest/sissy bar/rack pulls right out! :2vrolijk_21:

And Tim's taller one with the sportster rack just plugs in to those sideplates?

Added: I'm a dope! Tim's Parts List in the 1st response shows the rack as a separate P/N. So of course the rack can be removed. But if I can just interchange both sissy bars complete, then that's the ticket. I'll live without my Rail! ;) :2vrolijk_21:

That's a great shot Tim. Can that rack be removed from the sideplates too, or is it welded? Does the stock sissy bar plug into the same sideplates? Changing sissy bars wouldn't be too bad after all then.

Yes the rack does not have to be attached they are all seperate....you can use that rail without the rack or use the rack with the rail....lol you can't use the rack without the rail....and I KNOW YOU ARE DYING TO ASK..... :bananarock:

Yes the stock sissy bar rail plugs into the very same side rails.....the side rails are basically permanent unless of course you wish to remove them like you mentioned by removing the struts then removing the side panels....

Regards,

Tim

Thanks Guys! One excellent option now. Swapping sissy bars for occasional trips isn't too bad. I can just order Tim's Part's List he posted earlier. :2vrolijk_21:

Now before doing that, I'll just need to make sure I can't get some type of rack to work with the Rail Sissy Bar I really like! ;)
