How many '09 SERG's in each color?
« on: September 08, 2008, 04:41:57 PM »

Has anyone heard from their dealer how many '09 SERGs are planned for each of their 3 colors? I've read 3,000 units overall. Will they divide the total equally by 3 so 1,000 of each color will be produced? What have they done in the past? Just curious...thanks for all responses!.. :)

They will probably divide them up fairly evenly.  But after the first quarter, you never know.  They may query the dealers and change up a 100 or so.

Why do you say that?

Has someone told you that?

Based on history the numbers are different for each model and each color!

What does the first quarter have to do with it?

Inquiring minds want to know!

My dealer told me that the first three SERG bikes he had coming were set colors from
HD. He said after that (later in the model year) he could change the colors if he
wanted to. They will make more of the most popular color so colors will probably
not be divided equally.

Take the 05 SEEG for example, HD made more red bikes than yellow and more yellow
than teal due to the red being the most popular then yellow then teal.

Talked to the CVO rep at sturgis and he said after the first run of the 3 colors, the performance dealers (meaning the dealers with high volume) could order there next alloted units in the colors they wanted and there was no set limit on each color and a total 3000 to be built.  Low volume dealers may get one of moco color choice, med volume dealers get 2 and higher volume get 2 of moco choice then they can order more in any of the 3 colors based on there performance and didnt say what the limit was for the superstars.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure back then they did the colors in production runs (all of each color produced at the same time) and did not get all three colors out at once, then determine which one to make more of later based upon what was selling better, like you say they are doing with the SERG3s.  Might be true of the SERG3s, but the SEEGs were a different situation, if memory serves.

I know for sure in '04 they didn't do all the colors at same time. All the B/B were done first then the 0/B were done. I had to wait 9 months for my :pumpkin: :bigcry:
