I rode out to Port Jefferson today to meet Brian who is touring around from MI visiting Baseball Stadiums and going to games. He arrived here today after seeing games in Toronto and Boston, while also hitting Montreal and Portland. We went to Shea tonight, and will be going to Yankee on Fri. Hopefully we'll make a run to Ground Zero (tomorrow's 9/11 JIC someone forgot! I hope not!). Famous NYC fare, riding and baseball! We went to Vern's shop and Buddy and Adam rode back to my house with us, then we trained it to Shea! Then he's off to Philly, DC, Pittsburg and Cleveland!!! No pics yet! When I get some, you'll see em! :2vrolijk_21: :huepfenjump3:

P.S., Brian just told me to add something about the "INSANE" ride back from Port Jeff! I didn't think of it that way. I guess he'll let you know. Just a normal ride for me! ;)

Both my sisters live in MT Sinai so you were about 5 minutes from them.  with the Yankees tanking, Let's Go Mets!

Will be running Brian around the City today. Going to Yankees/Rays game tomorrow. Then Brian's off to Philly!

Who's around the Philly area? Brian's nervous about leaving his bike while going to a game there. Anyone nearby that he can hook up with down there? :2vrolijk_21:

Had a great day showing Brian around today. Took a back way in to Ground Zero, parked the bikes in a construction driveway, and walked him around "The Hole" this afternoon! He couldn't have been luckier than to be here on 9/11 and get escorted around by a native! Went back to Queens for a little work, then met him home this eve. We rode back to the City tonight, and took him around the good spots in the West Village. Some of youze that I've taken around will remember these places. Arturo's for dinner and Back Fence for  :drink:

He met a friend he knew from Houston, who lives on the upper West Side now. So we BS'd a little longer, and I left him to "do what a man's gotta do!" ;D (No Dante's though)

He's getting around pretty good now. I might or might not see him tonight, but tomorrow we're off to Yankee Stadium for the evening game against the Rays!

I've been riding Joy, so guess what? No camera!!! But I got a pic of Brian in front of the now famous Back Fence sign with his camera, but you'll have to wait for him to come back and post it! I've got shots of many of ya'll in front of that sign now. It's become my "signature" visitor photo op! Who's next? ;)

I can't thank Howie enough for his gracious hospitality the four nights I was in NYC.

I had an awesome time from the hell ride from Port Jeff to Queens all the way till I paid the $4.50 to get over to Stanton Island on my way out this morning.  During said hell ride I was a little worried since I was toting a full garbage barge the whole time I was wishing I was on my V-Rod but I think I adapted pretty well given the circumstances.

During my stay Howie was kind enough to use the 5 extra Mets tickets I was given by the owner of Rouge in Maspeth NY, kind enough to take me to ground zero before going to work on the 11th and then back out to Manhattan afterwards that night, kind enough to score Yankee tickets (even if he didn't wind up seeing the game  :huepfenjump3: only seeing rain and a tarp instead  :oops:), and kind enough to host me for yet another day so that I could still see the makeup game in the process.

So in closing thanks again Hoist! I look forward to meeting up for a CVO group ride in the near future.

Maybe we can all go crash my old man's place in Glassy, SC and ride the tail of the dragon or something along those lines.

Glad to hear Brian made it home safe and sound from his Motorcycle Baseball Tour! It was great having him here! We used his camera for these pics, and I just received them.
