How did Sarah Palin do last night in the debate
All joking aside ?
She did quite well because the entire country had been expecting Tina Fey and they got the real Sarah Palin. As I said before the debate, expectations were very very low for her, so it was a no lose situation and she did fairly well actually. The wink was my only complaint. I knew the McCain machine had her programmed for four Mavericks per paragraph.
The funny thing to me was that Joe Biden came off so well, if you're favoring the Democratic side of this election, you had to walk away from last nights debate wishing Biden were the top of the ticket. His suit screamed POTUS, his demeanor ranged from warm to courtly to serious at all the pefect junctures. He had gravitas in spades and nailed Palin to the wall on the Maverick thing. He seemed in my book to be everything Obama is not.
But the vote is between McCain and Obama and this debate only served to further the arugument that the demcrats are not the party to lead our nation at this time. We need new business creating new jobs. Taxing business is regressive. The dems want to tax business. We need to encourage business in every way we can. We need to create jobs. Why would any company want to use American labor which is already more expensive than foreign labor when they are going to be taxed on any profit they make. We should be offering tax breaks to any company that stays within US borders and taxing to death any company that takes it's business off shore. Ok, I'm getting off on a rant here.
Bottom line Biden won the debate, but Palin didn't need a win, just a solid performance which she delivered.
