V&H Pro-Pipe or True Duals??
« on: October 07, 2008, 08:16:14 PM »

Over the winter as long as I'm going to do the "performance upgrade" - I might as well do some other real performance upgrades to my '07 SERK - thanks to some great info from Hoist.
Here's what I'm planning:
SE 251 Cams
S&S adjustable pushrods
Feuling Performance lifters
SE 50mm throttle body
SE camplate
Already have a SE high-flow air cleaner and a SERT.
Now to the question - I have V&H true duals with Khrome Werks slip-on mufflers. The mufflers are starting to go so I'm considering one of the following:
V&H Monster Ovals ($800)
V&H ProPipe ($600)

I've always had a 2 into 2 system (like the looks). But I've been told the 2 into 1 will perform better. I've NEVER had a 2 into 1 system on any of my bikes over the past 30+ years. So I have absolutely no clue what to expect or even if they will make that much of a significant difference.

Anyone have any idea which way I should go with the mods that I'm going to be making - I know I want to go with V&H so at least that's one decision I've made!

Thanks much for any info you can pass along my way.

Strohkr,
I have both...V&H true duals and ovals on my SEUC and the Pro Pipe BP's on my Street Glide.  You'll get better torque and performance numbers out of a two into one, but you have to get used to the single side pipe look.  (Unless you get the D&D Fatcats with the ghost pipe on the left side)  I've really grown to like the looks of the single pipe on my Street Glide and on baggers in general now.  I'll stay with the true duals on the SEUC though.
