Yeap.  Same motor.  Different fix.  Gotta love the logic that shoved that through TQM.

Wanna bet the guy got a good performance review this quarter ?

Here's my take on his logic.

" after doing some research, I've discovered that the majority of our warranty claims for issues with the 110 engine platform were filed by owners with Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic models leading me to conclude that the issue is relative to the heat retained by the fairing lowers. I do not agree that we have a CVO wide issue here. I believe we can minimize our costs if we address the issue in a two tired approach focusing our more costly efforts on the Ultra Classic and the less costly on the other models in our CVO line-up. "

The guy probably walked out of the room a hero because he mostly agree with everyone in the room, but saved the CVO manager his job by being able to have him report back to the boardroom that the problem would not cost nearly as much as finance had estimated to correct.

IMO nothing wrong with the cylinders, it's the as-built excessive heat and dynamic compression of the engine which causes them to fail
