Headlamp Options
« on: October 22, 2008, 01:44:50 PM »

As many of you, I am riding a 08 SEUC, and have questions/concerns about happiness with Headlamps.
Previously, I was using a High-Output bulb on my Road King. And am not as satisfied with the quoated better headlamp system, that is on many of our bikes.
a.) Not as bright as I would like
b.) Does not illiminate as much going wide as well
c.) Cannot tell a significant differance on Bright.

Is there a better product out there for our application, that does not cost an arm and a leg that anyone has used?

The threads are full or info on HID lights.

I run with them and love them over stock units.

There are many solutions but I have yet to see a better solution than HID's

I only spent less than $100.00 on a set which I think would be hard to repeat, $150.00 - $200.00 would be easy.

you would need 2 ballasts (mini is best for mounting) and 2 bulbs  H4 and H11, make sure you check when you remove.

It is a plug and play system, but you do have to remove the bat wing to mount ballasts.

I also have the Moto-lights mounted on the brake calipers which provide as much light as the HID's do but they were very expensive $700.00 and more involved to install.

If you do not see me coming down the road you are truly Mr. Magoo

sawyerghost:  HID's are the way to go and very easy to install.

2 bulbs  H4 and H11, make sure you check when you remove.

The CUSE3 takes two bulbs but they are H11 (low) and H8 (high).

The H4/9003 Bi-Xenon bulbs in the bi-xenon kit stay fixed and there is a shield that covers and uncovers the capsule of the xenon bulb as you switch from low to high beam, thus changing the beam pattern. The high beam gives an upward projection and the low beam gives a forward projection. You will maintain the same beam pattern with dramatic increase in intensity and distance.

Is there just a brighter bulb that can be purchased, like I did for my R.K. , without going through all of that rewiring?

No rewiring just plug n play

To answer your question.......NO       cannot just buy a bulb and get those results
