110 Mods, '07 Ultra Eagle
« on: October 27, 2008, 08:53:12 AM »

Purchased new in 10.15.06, broke in 1st 1K stock, had bike dyno'd at 1K mile service to see what was under the tank. Factory HSP: 83.63, Factory TQ: 109.90...??...not bad but needed more.  Installed SERT, HI-FLOW AIR, RINEHART TD, 2nd dyno results HSP:96.52,TQ:117.11... rode bike for next two years, flawless all around, no head gasket leaks or any issue at all...then received the dreaded recall letter for new heads and gaskets...Made the appointment last month, figured since the top end was going to be new agian, maybe I should bump the performance a little and change out the cams.  Talked to Gary at Andrews and reccommended the 54's. I had the new heads flow tested proir to port/polish then proceeded to mods:
1) Heads port/polish
2) Installed Andrews 54H cams
3) Kept hydraulic chain tensioners
4) Upgraed to a larger hi-flow air cleaner
5) Kept factory TB
6) Re-dyno'd
;D Mod results HSP 110.5, TQ 120.9....the 110 woke up big time...

Welcome to the site.
Those are some impressive numbers! A few of us here are toying with similar builds given that the bike has to go in anyway.
You didn't mention who did the work? Also, we have a registry for the SEUC². Just follow the link in my signature to include your bike.
Again, welcome aboard.

Hoggr,
Hope you got the crank welded while you had this done...I was told by the tech who does the performance work at my dealer that you don't want to "wake up" the 110 very much without doing crank work.  He said that the stock crank won't handle much more torque then what comes from the factory.  Just passing on what he said...

Devil,

I have almost 32k miles on my 07 B/O 110" that put out 127/122 and the crank has held up to this point just fine.  It is still below the original crank runout spec's.   I do agree that it is a consideration that a person should definitely take into account when building up the engine as it is a possible weak link, but I don't think it should be used as a blanket statement.

You're right...I was just passing on what my performance tech told me when I was looking to beef up mine.  He didn't say how long the crank would hold out or even if it would go bad.  He said basically the same thing.  If you're going to spend the money to get the mods done fix the crank, because it's the weak link in the 110 if you want more torque.   :nixweiss:  I haven't done any major mods to mine so I can't speak from experience like you can.
