Mark,
Those look like late model pickups in the picture. Who's boat is this ?

B B

Just went to the site that Gary gave the link to above. This was one of the last boats listed on the sold section. The minute I saw the picture I remembered seeing a model just like that one in the picture when I was about 13 or 14 years old and dreaming of it for years after that. At that time there were mostly old plain Chris Crafts and Century's around here.

Here is what you will need for Maine, get us some lubstas. ;D

If I were to do it again..

http://www.parkerboats.net/pages/boat_lineup/boat_detail.jsp?boatid=13

That could take a person out for some good fishing. Almost long enough for some adverse weather. :2vrolijk_21:

I've had an interesting life, but the one toy I would not mind having would be a STOL aircraft.
Aviation has been a passion since pre-teens. That along with good engineered cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, Hi-Tech electronics devices, and models that replicate the pre-mentioned mechanical life-size units.

I don't want much, do I?

I answered the original post on this thread as it was asked, but to answer the question posed by the title of the thread. I am looking for an old mahogany Christ Craft boat to restore. Something in the 20 ft range built in the 40's or 50's. I grew up around boats, worked for a shipbuilder most of my adult life and have always loved being out on the water. My two life's hobbies have been motorcycles and boats. We had a boat when the kids were younger but sold it when we moved to California in Jan 98. Now the kids are grown, I'm retired and will be spending summers living on a lake, so I've got another boat. As noted elsewhere I am doing a bunch of R&R to that but I dream of owning one of those gorgeous old mahogany rubabouts. If you've never seen one, log onto www.woodenboats.com.

I to have a love for the old wooden boats and live on the lake.

I have a neighbor who has a immaculate 1951 Christ Craft mahogany runnabout.  Boat took him five years, everthing is perfect, he tows it with his 100% restored 1951 chevy truck.  He too lives on the lake, but that boat is in his garage unless he is on the water with it.  He also has two other boats he keeps on his dock lifts, a 1962 32 foot Marrinette, and a new 22 foot searay.

One day I will find an old 45 to 59 wooden boat to restore.  I love wood.  I live in a Log home I built, and have 14 species of wood in my home.

No offense Mark, but given a choice between your 38' Donzi and this 40' Harper, I'd take the Harper in a New York minute

And that coming from a guy who's dreamed of owning a classic Donzi since he was 16

What ever happened to Merch?  I think that's the correct spelling.  :nixweiss: Haven't heard anything of late.  Still in the running?  Buddy of mine from Tidewater had one years ago.  Would definitely get on with it.  Please advise.  That said, would love to have a '47 or '48 Willys Jeep.  Later--HUBBARD

Canadian company and they're still out there Hub and they do build top notch kick a$$ engines. No argument from me there, it's just that the TP is damn near perfect in my opinion.
