Any Difference in 04 - 05 SE Heads
« on: November 03, 2008, 11:07:48 PM »

Is their any difference between the 04 103" SE heads and the 05 103" SE Heads? From what I have heard the Stock 05 Heads have more port volume and less port obstruction. Is this true for the SE Heads and would the 05 103 SE Heads fit on to the 04 SE 103 cylinders?

Thanks,

Leo, the people at Axtell told me the 04 and 05 103" engines were the same.  The part numbers for the heads and pistons  for the 05 103" engine are all -03 or -03A part numbers as well.  While that's not definitive for the question it does tell us that nothing new was created specifically for 2005 production.

They are talking about stock TC 88" heads, not SE 103" heads, don't think that info pertains to SE heads.

That's what I was thinking too, there had to be a difference between a stock 88ci head and a 103ci head. :nixweiss:

I would think there a change between stock heads and SE heads? If not what would be the worth of having SE heads even for the same size motor?

I read that article, in regards to stock the 88 heads, I was wondering about the the difference between the 04 SE 103" heads and 05 SE 103 heads, their may be no difference.

I would go with 2LR, if the P/N are the same than I wouldn't think there was any difference. Might find a good part person you trust at HD and have them check.

Leo, just spoke with a parts counter guy I like.  He gave me part numbers for the 04 cylinders, heads and valves that are the same as those in my 05 catalog.  So they're the same.
