changed your 110's cams?...what's your ccp?
« on: November 05, 2008, 08:40:46 PM »

still haven't heard a definitive answer to why our motors' cold cranking pressure is around 215#...if you do the math, it should be much lower...I'd like to hear from those who've changed cams only and have checked compression...please specify if it was taken cold or warm

Skyhook,
I did a CVO 110" in house 3 months ago.Cold cranking with the stock SE 255 cams(26 intake close) was 215,with the compression releases disabled.I used cams that had a 46 intake close, clipped the heads, fixed the quench, and got 185 cold cranking (disabled releases).

I had this exact same result using the CR595 Cam...

I ran 251 cams in a 103 with 205ccp and it made 105hp/115tq sae on a dj250 on pump gas...prolly would have made lot more hp with better throttle body...I used to smoke hell out of light bikes on a regular basis

I'd love to hear more details about your 222ccp build...tuning?...cooling?...DO TELL!

Bet you would .....  ::)  Actually, it's a setup that I've had in mind for some time after listening to the earlier 110 problems and put together at my son's HD dealership.  Won't really know how close it comes to the desired build until I get on the dyno in another 300 miles and then run it a bit.  Don't want to put anyone in a wrong and expensive direction until I'm sure it works me.
