Im helping my friend try to get his 1999 dyna running right. Its been sitting around and will run good with the choke out but craps out with it in.Weve got fresh fuel and cleaned up the plugs. Im thinking low speed circut in carb. Any ideas? Its got 1800 miles! Hes a nice guy but a little weak on the keeping it up thing

clean all the jets and blow some cleaner through the idle circuit and check the intake for leaks , and if that dont work look for a good mechanic. good luck.   axil

Like Axil stated and make sure he is getting plenty of fuel from the vacuum operated fuel shutoff valve in the bottom of the tank and the in tank strainer.

Try running some BG 44K thru it, that stuff really works on gummed up carbs.

On a 1999 with only 1800 miles and very little maintaince, I would personally forget about a quick blast of carb cleaner or other quicky fix.  Remove the carb, remove all the jets, inlet valve, etc., thoroughly soak and blow out the passages, and replace all the seals and gaskets.  Do the same with the petcock.  You don't need dripping fuel starting a fire.
