Seat passenger grab strap
« on: June 02, 2009, 10:32:55 PM »

Get tired of using a screwdriver to remove the seat strap? Buy an extra seat quick release kit (Knurled seat knob), put a s/s washer on it and it will screw into the left side bracket thru the passenger strap, now as easy to remove the strap as it is the seat without tools.

The passenger grab strap was the second thing I removed permanently right after the stupid plastic reflectors.

I left mine "as is" if nothing else, just an extra layer of security by leaving the strap on with the screw in place. I don't want to make it too easy for somebody besides myself to remove the seat.

Me too, not sure which was first, but they were done at the same time.

Good idea if you want to keep it, but I removed mine too, I used the reflectors I removed to cut it off! :P

Never thought about the security aspect. I removed mine shortly after getting my bike. However it would slow a thief down for a few more seconds. It's one thing to finish a trip without bags but what would you do if they stole your seat? T.
