What if I dont do the Racetuner, save 500 smackers. SE air cleaner and True duals and VAnce & Hines ovals, would the bike run bad? Lean? I dont need more power, after all, it is a bagger, has plenty of power now. Would this be OK?  [smiley=cool2.gif]

You don't have to do the racetuner, but you will have to at a minimum, do the Stage I flash  @ $150, but you still might have problems as HD's flash might not match your set up.  (duals and mufflers)  Probably should go with a PC or one of the DFO's.  If your happy with the way it runs, you can usually just change the pipes and not the AC if you don't want to mess with the RC,PC or DFO.

I agree - just do the pipes, no aircleaner, and I would still do the H-D calibration (Stage 1 Race).

 Ya you can get away with changing your pipes and mufflers, do the flash. It will run okay, youll have the power, but your also going to have a pop on upshifting in 1st, 2nd, gear and decell alot of times. It wont stop the popping till you do the RT to map in for the different pipes.
I did exactly what you are thinking due to the $$ I didnt want to do it all in one shot.

You have heard of the Dare program in our schools well their moto is just say NO !

Dont be doing something your going to regret possibly in a huge way.   The bikes come already lean from the factory and your going to add more air (high flow air cleaner) to it and not any fuel .... This = TROUBLE.

If your going to get the download spend the 365.00 from Chicago Harley and get the race tuner at 20 percent off.  If you call on a saturday ask for Eric Siemens in parts.

The download is what 150 plus they charge and hour labor for a 5 sec install even if they milk it for 20 minutes.

at that rate that is approx 210 to 220 dollars fork over the 140 extra and make the bike tunable  Everytime I skimp I pay more in the end so now I just pay up front.

If your not going to spend the money then get the pipes and leave off the air cleaner as the others have said, but you may have to live with popping.
