A true " Merge Collector" Stock Header Pipe for our '09's
« on: December 07, 2008, 11:49:49 AM »

Talked  to Steve at Fullsac yesterday and he is designing a true Merge Collector header pipe for our '09 bikes that will use the stock heat shields and muffs. It will also be " Jet Hot" coated. That should be awesome ...Especially on the Ultras. Greg

Great idea!

With his mufflers it would become a complete system.

And the powder coating is just icing on the cake!

Looking forward to the next exhaust enhancement from fulsac's.
Somebody needs to do a video with the 2" and the 2.25" fulsacs so we can compare to the 1.75"

That's exactly what we were going to do last night, just ran out of time....I'll see if we can do that on the Ultra ..

I ended up with the 2" on the 113" motor, and the 1 3/4" on the 96" motor. Yes the larger motor is a little louder, but, really, not all that much. I'm happy with both systems. Oh yeah, the 113 motor has Fullsac "true duals" and the 96" has the stock '09 headers. I LIKE the sound of both.
Got back from AZ tonight with a couple of buddies. They had no idea what I had done to the mufflers, but, commented about the nice sound from behind.
Easy way to go, and cheap!

Chip, In my opinion that the only way to go...THE Jet Hot will keep most if not  all that heat off of of you, and it will run so much better as you well know.....Greg

Steve,

Do you have a rough estimate when this will be ready?

Worked on the fixture all day. I have a tach welded version on the bike already with the stock shields in place. Needs a few more tweeks. Will be making a new cross under as well. The stock squasher isn't going to cut it. I hope to have production pipes available in Feb-march. Should be on the dyno within a week.

By the way, I picked up my new 09 EGC on Saturday. Showed up for the toy run on Sunday morning with 5 miles on it. Managed to put 50 miles it before it was on the lift getting the exhaust torn off. Poor bike is in for a rough life. Lol..

Yeah, sad because this is the time of year when your weather is perfect for riding! BTW, what color bike did you get?

This time of year our weather can be awesome or downright miserable. I picked up a black one, my standard color for HDs. I hope to ride tommorow with a new pipe on it. I better go back to work or thats not going to happen.
