2009 Bagger Frames
« on: May 12, 2009, 12:57:34 AM »

Has anybody actually seen the new motor mounts particularly the rear. I was looking at some 09's a few days ago and the rear mounts look the same externally as the previous pre 09 versions.  I would have liked to pop the chrome cap off to see what was behind there.

Back in 02 everybody raved about the new beefy swingarm, retuned rubber mounts and the vastly improved ride and handling. Then a few years later after the bikes got some miles on them and the mounts  started to soften up the wobble was back.

So how do we know the new frame and mounts won't be a case of deja vu in a couple of years?

Interesting first post. While you pick people's brains, why don't you go ahead and introduce yourself in the new members thread?

They were a step up from the years prior to that.  However, on some of the bikes it didn't take miles and miles for issues to manifest themselves......some were that way from the factory.  My 04 SEEG with over 51k miles on it still rides very well (straight for miles, no wobble or rear steer, etc. and no, I don't have the suspension after market components.......I just got lucky).  However, as much as everybody who rides my bike comments about how well it handles, it's nothing compared to the 09 Street Glide that we bought for Terrie.  It's like it's two different motorcycles and is the most sure footed motorcycle that I've ever been on!  I've already had it in the mountains, through the twisties, up, down and all around and I've used the ABS of a few occassions.

Let me conclude by saying "don't go test ride an 09 bagger unless you're ready to buy!" :2vrolijk_21:
