Planning a coast to coast ride, need your help
« on: February 08, 2009, 06:06:32 PM »

My wife and I are in the planning stages of a coast to coast trip. Leaving on our "09 SEUC from San Francisco about May 25 '09. We will ride hard to Yellowstone National Park then slow down to Rapid City SD, Minneapolis MN, Madison WI, Chicago IL, north to Green Bay WI, then Hwy 2 in Michigan, south through Michigan Hwy 23, through Detroit around Lake Erie to Rochester NY, through Vermont and Maine.

Return trip will be more direct route, probably 80.

What we are loking for is day rides, scenic two laners, places not to miss along this general route. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Very cool!

Would love to add my advice... by my coast-to-coast (and back) trip took less than 100 hours, so all I can pass on is I-10 sucks!  :freak:

I moved this up here.  The Ride Report is for rides that you've already done.

I sent a PM (go to the top of the page and click where it says "My Messages) to you regarding some of the more local GTGs that are planned for the Nor Cal area.

Andy, Jon and I did an ocean to ocean ride about three years ago.........we had a great time and great hospitality from some of the members here on this forum.  We were able to use the GPS so we did very little interstate.....most of it on two lane back roads.

About the only advice I could suggest......take a good, easy to use pocket size digitial camera because...........as far as your ride report for when you return.
