standing for SPC Corey M. Shea
« on: November 21, 2008, 09:56:27 AM »

decided to get off my a$$ and show my respect/support for those that have served for us. with the assistance of gerbing and and sun-ray i put down about 100 miles in below freezing temps yesterday to stand in a PGR flag line for Corey when he was returned home yesterday. it was a very emotional experience as Corey's mom walked our line and shook each of our hands and thanked us for being there and supporting Corey and her family.

Shea, 21, was a cavalry scout with Killer Troop, Third Squadron, Third Armored Cavalry Regiment out of Fort Hood, Texas. He had been in Iraq for a year and his tour of duty was to expire in January.

He died near the city of Mosul when he and other soldiers with his unit were shot at by a renegade soldier with possible ties to Al Qaeda. One other soldier was killed and six were injured. The Iraqi soldier was shot dead.

Neil,

I am proud of you for wanting to do this - and I am prouder that you actually did it.  What a tremendous way to honor a fallen hero.  People like yourself and actions such as yours are now part of what Corey's mom will remember as she lives with the death of her soldier son.

Thank you and God Bless.

Neil,

What an amazing gift to the family of a fallen soldier! May God bless you and yours for your willingness to stand in the gap during an emotional and high-impact moment in this family's life!

Ditto!

We need to support all our troops that stand in harms way to keep freedom free!
Thanks Neal!
