Rineharts, Cost? Sound?
« on: September 25, 2005, 08:20:22 PM »

I'm seeing the rineharts for around 600 bucks. I'll sell the V&H ovals and recoup half of that. How would you compare the sound? Are the Rineharts a low guttural sound like the V&H Ovals? or louder? How would you describe the sound of rineharts? I'm thinking true dual, performance wise, they are the way to go. Any thoughts?

CVOwner,

True Dual and performance is kind of a mixed bag.  In most cases if your looking for performance it will be a 2 into 1.

I have a few threads out there where I outlined the problems I had with the Rhineharts and would recommend reading it you will find some proponets for and against them on this site.   BuB was good to deal with in the warranty dept but I had far to many calls into them to make it a fruitful endeavor for me.

I would recommend the Vance and Hines True duals if that is what you want or to go to a 2 into 1 like the D&D FAT Cats with the ghost / false pipe also pictured many times here in another thread.

For the 2 into 1 I own VH 2 into 1 /  2 sets of D&D and I have an older set of the White Brothers E pipe  2 into 1 no longer available.

The True Duals are louder in my opinion.   On both or our SEEGS we have the D&D's with the ghost pipe and my wife and I are very happy with the slash cut / look / sound and quality of the chrome as well as the performance.

CVOwner,

I bought the 360 degree with the stealth foot pegs they worked out great on my bike and a buddies bike.   I dont even notice the black rubber on the other side of the steal pegs and they match the rest of the bike as far as grips / foot boards etc.

I dont think you will be sorry with the VH true duals.

CVOwner, I put the Rineharts on new in April and now have 10,357 miles.  This weekend had a rattle in the right side muffler and thought it was a heat shield but found out later its a baffle in the muffler.  I've contacted the company about the baffle rusting and loosing up and waiting to hear if they will help correct the problem.  Love the sound of them, but now questioning the quality !!  We'll see

The shifter pegs are actually rubber on the back side, too, not that you'd ever notice, though.

CVOwner, I would say "most" guys here have gone with the airfoils.  They look great up or down.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I think I'll do it too, I like the larger ones for my big foot/boot.

Like so many others, this is a matter of opinions and as you know, there are plenty of them.

I trust YOU will be pleased with YOUR choice.

Thats what I'm going to do, V&H true duals, V&H ovals, I already have the ovals, the sound can only get better. racetuner and SE AC Kit. I'm good to go. Now I have to find some hiway pegs that go around the lowers, I think HD has some extended ones, I'll get out the old catalogue and start hunting.

Thanks, Mike
