Alarm ?
« on: January 03, 2009, 06:46:52 AM »

Had the key fob on me to add the battery tender to my 09 SERG and as I removed the cables from the bike battery my siren went off and would not shut off untill I had it all hooked up again. What did I do wrong? have done this on 08s and earlier bikes and never had this happen.  Thanks Doc

He's right. I learned this the hard way myself.

Is the Smart Siren delivered with the SERG or is it an additional accessory you must purchase?

I'm a little ashamed to admit this, but when I first installed my Zumo 550, I tied it directly to the battery (via a fuse of course) but when I unhooked the battery to add the wires, (in my closed Harley room) the alarm went off....and off.....and off until I reattached the battery cables and it recognized the key fob again. (about 4 minutes) I swear I couldn't hear for the next 20 minutes.

(turn ign. on, pull maxi-fuse, turn ign off, do your task, replace fuse. - If I would have known, what a much easier change it would have been!)
