Whats hooked up to the two switches on the back of the nacele??
« on: February 05, 2009, 08:36:00 PM »

2008 SERK

Short of taking the thing apart,  I have two switches on the back of the nacelle,  both labeled on/off and I have no idea what they are for?

I plan on adding the motolight's and hoped this was a power switch for them,  and I also needed to wire in a GPS..

I know silly question,  but its a new bike,  and it's COLD in chicago!!!!!!

Thx!

On the back of the headlight nacelle on a Road King?  One is for spotlights (whether you have them or not) and the other is an accessory switch for whatever you might plug in to the accessory harness connector.

Was silly,  but going from a Heritage to this is quite different!

You kidding?  First Road King I had with spotlights I rode for eight months before I learned I could turn the damn things off. :huepfenlol2:

Those weatherproof boots over the switches............they're not difficult at all to get on and off.  Trouble is........getting them.  Took a month for mine to arrive from Chicago H-D.  The ones that came with the bike were torn.  Can't have unserviceable stuff.   :2vrolijk_21:

Still waiting on saddlebag latch springs.  Also order a bunch of saddlebag latch lid screws, since I found out the hard way they like to come out.  The ones I scrounged from the local dealer came with a threadlocker patch, but I slathered them up with red threadlocker anyway.........and ordered 20 more just to have them on stock.
