Exactly.  Very good or very bad.  Those stick with you.  Annoying sticks with you.  Everything else is like Dougie MacArthur; it just fades away.

Reminds me a little of the experience when I picked up the red bike.  While doing the paperwork on the SEEG with the title clerk she rambles on about the dealer prep work.  How careful.  How this and how that.  My eyes had rolled up to pursue the initial progress of a ballistic arc no one else but me could see so I'm not sure exactly what she was saying.  But she was obviously very proud.

The (then) service manager had already told me about the efforts they'd put in.  Test ride.  Detail.  The whole deal.  The sales guy who tried to explain to me that "MSRP was different on the CVO bikes" had emphasized the bike would be full of fuel and ready to go and that the service staff would show me "how to work it all."

After screwing around for 90 minutes first with the title clerk then just waiting for someone to tell me to get on my bike and ride away I'm finally told the detail is done and I can go.  The bike is very clean.  It also shows 1.7 miles on the odometer (hell of a test ride), it runs out of gas before I make it 10 blocks to the closest fuel stop and the clutch master cylinder almost immediately start dropping fluid out the seal.

Heluva test ride and check out.  They had at least turned the tour pak around the right direction and bolted it down.  So it was a model assembly effort.

And they charge extra for putting air in the rear shocks.

I put the Progressive shocks on it that night.  But I think the shocks were flat when I unhooked the air lines :huepfenlol2: .

Don, the eye twitch I get from that story tells me it is not dealer specific but some corporate doctrine...
I don't understand it, I just don't...

My 09 was at least quick...sign check, load bike, Schmoops shops around...45 minutes...And I really think this time, is the last time I ever buy a new bike from a HD dealer again.

At lease my pursuit of the OBW SERG Classic will prolly be a private sale...someday...I hope for better treatment at Indi....errrr, nevermind..  ???  ::)

The nerve of some dealers!

Another classic CVO Forum example of how to hijack a thread and increase your thread count! :bananarock:  After reading through this I actually forgot that the original subject was about the key fob.
