Diamondback cables question
« on: January 04, 2009, 07:34:46 PM »

The Diamondback clutch cable that went on the SERG recently has this very nice polished collar that slides over the adjusting hardware.  Hides all of the adjuster hardware and still looks very sleek.

Does anyone know if the Diamondback throttle and idle cables have the same collar to hide the adjusting hardware?  The smaller diameter might make this tough to do.  But I didn't quickly find anything to say definitively one way or the other.  So maybe someone here has been there and done that already?

I have seen alot of different throttle adjuster covers but i don't know who makes them.

but imho, thay don't look as good as the plain adjusters.  just my two cents.   axil

I'm not wild about the other add-on adjuster covers I've seen before either.  The one on this clutch cable I'm comparing against is different though.  It's not an add-on.  Actually part of the cable.  Slim piece that slides up and down over the adjuster hardware.

Suppose should have done this to begin with.  Here's the clutch cable with the adjuster down.

Here it is opened to expose the adjuster hardware.

Found a picture in the P&A catalog that probably answers the question.  Looks like the throttle and idle cables from this "Diamondback" cable series don't have the same cover integrated on the cable that the clutch cable does.

Don I had the diamondback cables on Kathy's FLHX.

The adjusters were chrome with no covers.

They looked better than the stock ones that came on the SEEG's

Thanks Brian.  If they had those same sleek adjuster covers that the Diamondback clutch cable has I'd have gotten them.  Otherwise the stainless Barnett cables from Jim are chrome all over too and I'd rather get them from him unless fortunate enough to just stumble in to something locally.
