Horsepower help, please
« on: January 15, 2009, 09:58:32 PM »

I was hoping to add some horsepower to my 06' SEFB

I was thinking of doing a race tuner and have it dynoed...

Is this a good way to go?

THe bike has Vance and Hines pipes, but is otherwise stock...

You'll need a higher flow air filter to go along with the tuner and after market pipes.  Other than that, you're heading in the right direction.  :2vrolijk_21: :pepper:

Torque or horsepower?

I believe the majority look for torque..  that's the seat of the pants pucker that makes you hold on and grin.

My 05 SEFB was stock until recently. Added Rhineharts and a SERT but they are just add on's if you don't get a really good dyno guy that comes highly recommended and knows exactly what he is doing.

You will probably do most of your riding between 1800 and 4300 RPM. Look around and do your research for a great cam that will provide bottom end torque that the new pipes just took away and pull well to about 4500 RPM. Some here say the zippers 575 will do that.

Good luck and enjoy your project.
