CVO mufflers bolt sizes
« on: January 10, 2009, 07:16:23 AM »

Before Christmas I purchased a  set of original Harley Davidson exhaust removed from a 2007 Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide. OEM p/n 66080-06B and 65913-06A from a  regular power seller with high ratings on Ebay. In addition to the bolts being missing from the one end cap, which was easily replaced with bolts from the touring pipe end caps; there was a bolt sheared off the bracket which needed to be drilled.

Yesterday, I installed Fullsac 1.75 that I received for Christmas and have these things ready to go but need the 4 bolts, which may even be metric as the standard 5/16 nc threads don't seem to be the right fit. Once I know what they are I can get a new tap and fix the threads on the one that was drilled out. Yeah, I know I should have checked them more closely as soon as they arrived so I could complain about the broken stud, but I did not notice it until I was working installing the Fullsac baffles.

Can anyone list the dimensions of the 4 bolts needed to secure the mufflers to the bracket at the rear? I don't have a manual for the newer bikes or I could look it up. The older bikes use  different size bolts.

Thanks in advance

Try calling or going to the dealer, most have a great inventory of bolts or can order them.

I have sold dozens of the Mufflers you have listed, HD has not changed their bolts, the 4in pipes use 5/16 18  1/2 in bolts,  unless your seller retapped the nuts for some reason you should be fine, the 3/4 length bolts used on 3 1/2 in Pipes will bottom out on the muffler body they are not to big, just too long.
