I will be picking up my 09 SERG hopefully next week and I've already got the parts to change out the passenger foot pegs to the rumble foot boards. I want to use those pegs for my highway pegs but HD has a few different options for the mounting bracket i.e. long, short and a 360 degree, was thinking of going with the short because I'm six feet tall but thought I'd ask for some advice before I spend another $100 or so. I've seen alot of you guys have different styles on your bikes already not sure if there harley part# or something different. Thanks

this is what I use, yes with the pegs moved from the passenger, I have used a classic style peg to replace till I can come up with a better choice.

Honestly the location of HWY pegs is about the same as asking what is the best seat is. Every foot, leg & position you ride is different (like the ass & the seat thing) Just do what feels  best to you.  :pepper:

50830-07, short arm adjustable - Best for models with lower fairings or short legged riders
50957-02A, Work well, look great, some poeple may have to stretch out to use them

As Jett stated, its a personal preference. Sit on other bikes (with the owners permission of course ;D) with the different arms on them and see what you like best.

what I use on my 02 Roadking, cause I go 6'5 is a short brake arm & put my highway pegs turned inward, low oon the engine guards, this allows me full extension while keeping my feet inside the guards. I never liked the looks of legs spread  outside of guards. also wind buffeting is slick.  Good Luck!!!

I have a like new pair of the Billet style Peg Mounts for sale for $50 shipped CONUS.

Part no (part no. 50957-02A - same as what LarryB is recommending.

Yes, i know, shameless advertising but they would also be my recommendation given your height.

I used the HD # 50964-98 mount kit.  IMHO the only way to go as it was only one I found that allows you to position at an angle you like.  The other ones have a fixed mount angle or I should say no angle which is uncomfortable for me.   I used same mount for pegs on my old Glide too and loved them.    I had dealer order pegs to match passenger as wife likes pegs over boards.  pic below.

Hey Eagle, thanks for the pic with snow in it. Bike looks good.
the bracket I suggested 50957-02A is just as adjustable and more so. and IMO look better. I have used the clamps you have and they just have a utilitarian look, the above mentioned one are billet and look great.
how do your saddle bag covers stay secure?

The saddle bag bra kit has velcro adhesive strips for the inside of lids.   Used them for years with no issues.  I need a good stretch of warm sunny days to get them to lay down real tight.  Tough getting a new bike in January!   I figured there must be other brackets allowing angle adjust to suit, I'll have a look at that part# too.  Thanks.
