Maybe one byproduct of all of this will be a increase in quality in the mfg. process.  spyder

spyder,
I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening! The MOCO is all about the bottom line and they still can't make the connection that real quality sells. JMHO

I have toured both the Goldwing and York plant twice, the last time in the York plant a line worker spent several minutes texting someone as the assembly line crept along behind her. I suppose it is possible that the task she is assigned to perform was already taken care of, but it sure looked bad, especially considering a tour group was walking by and she could have cared less. I would be willing to bet you would never witness that in the Wing plant.

So, I'm assuming  this was not the hand-assembled CVO section of the York plant?   :'( spyder

I'm not wanting to stir the pot or step on anyone's toes but I've worked for both union and non-union companies and I must say I perfer the non-union environment.  I don't believe that any organization ( union ) can look out for my best interest better than I can.  I can't speak for motorcycle manufacturing employees but in the aviation industry if I can't recieve the compensation I feel is fair, then someone else is ready to offer it.

I'll bet you would Ohiodave Just cause there is a different name on the front of the building doesnt mean theres not a soccer mom texting her girlfriend, its the same everywhere.  I wonder how they structured their current contract, their brothers still flaunt 95% of wages does anyone know how the HD employees are fairing?
