The 103's of today, are a bored/stroked 96. Not the same as the 103 CVO of 2006.
Bored, not stroked. Stock stroke, same as the 96"!
But these engines aren't the SAME 103's as the prior versions. Today's 103 might be more equivalent to making an 88" a 95". Bolt on bigger bore is all you're doing. The previous design cranks seemed to be better quality design than the current 96"/103"/110' crank is. Even though they stopped using the Timken design in '02, there were very few claims to failed or scissored cranks til the '06 Dyna came out, and subsequently all big twins made thereafter. So the new design seems to be at the heart of this, and as with everything, the bigger the motor, the more power, the more abuse the crank takes. And the 110 seems to be TOO big for this design to handle. HD says it can handle a completely stock configuration, and that's what it was designed for. I agree to a certain extent. If you're doing A/C. pipes, and tuner, there should be NO issue with the motor handling this. But there were a buncha cases with '07's/'08's that couldn't. Forget the HiPo mods though with the stock bottom end. You're only asking for trouble, and at least know that going in!

Hoist!
