Compare V & H and CFR Slip-ons?
« on: March 06, 2009, 02:08:56 PM »

Can anyone out there let me know how Vance & Hines basic slip ons compare to CFR's slip ons in terms of:

Noise

Performance

Anything else?

I'd be adding them to an otherwise stock '09 CVO SEUC.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the V&H, pretty loud, suppose to make good power, but that depends on what else you do. Overall I like them.  :2vrolijk_21:

I just put CFRs on my 09 SEUC and had V & H True Duals on my 07 Ultra.  I like the sound of the CFRs better, it is deeper and "rumblyer"  plus I like the look better.  I had trouble with my V & H's they tended to backfire and "bark" and I believe I lost gas mileage with them.  I put the V & H Fuel controler but still I don't believe it peformed as it should.

I did nothing else to my 09 and I believe it runs better, slightly quicker, and smoother. I may have to go to a SSERT in the summer because of the heat, but I am going to wait and see.

Each to his own, but I really like the CFRs, on-line they are $600 and easy to put on yourself.

The fuel pack isn't a tuning device, to get any upgrades to really perform you need to be able to tune for your conditions and specific bike. You had true duels, what mufflers, classic round, (Basics)? mine popped a little on decel at low rpms when I installed them, so I took some fuel out in those areas, and it stopped.

I don't know if this would help, but Hot rod bikes, Baggers magazine did a comparison of slip on mufflers.  The article was old, 2007 but they did a good job with dynos on each pipe.   Here is the link.  http://www.supertrapp.com/images/pdfs/Shootout.pdf

Gook luck in your search.  I did the Supertrapp true duels with their SE slipons.  Supertrapp used my 09 SE ultra on their website video.  Check it out
