« on: April 26, 2009, 01:18:41 PM »

Question is, what would to many miles for the money.

00 Road King Classic $9500.00 with (51,000 total miles) 20,000 miles on new 95" kit full top end.

02 Electra Glide Standard w/95" kit 17,000 miles for $9500.00.

99 Road King Classic 95" kit 19,000 miles $10,750.

00 Road King Stock 4700 miles $11000.00.

There is a lot of nice bikes on the market right now want to get the most for the money. :2vrolijk_21:

Looks to me that the 02 Electra Glide would be the best for the money. But, what do you want, the Road King and the Electra Glide are two different styles.

Are the 99-00 bikes injected or carb? Pre 02 had the Marelli electronics and those that worked worked well and then there were the quirky ones. The 02 bagger is most likely the best bet in my opinion as it has Delphi electronics and a solid lower end with the Timken style bearing.

The 02 Electra Glide is so much more motorcycle than the Road King. :2vrolijk_21:

I'd go with the 02, it has the newer Delphi style fuel injection.

If you can swing it, I'd move up to an 07 model with the 6-speed.  You should be able to find one of those for a price not much more than what you are looking at.  My neighbor have been trying to sell an 07 RK Classic with 1900 miles on it for $14,000 range for 1.5 years now and people keep passing it up saying they found the same cheaper.  I'm assuming they are out there from hearing that, but they may have all just been tire kickers looking for a deal.  Worth looking though.
