Noise when braking
« on: October 03, 2005, 12:15:55 PM »

I have been hearing this funny noise for awhile, sounds like bees buzzing around when I brake harder then normal. Thought it was the 3/4" ball bearings I kept under the fuel cap cover.

Took them out this weekend and still hear the noise. Could it be the floating rotors? Never had a bike with the floaters before, so I have no experience.

That and the button broke on the fuel cover last night  [smiley=annoyed.gif]
Can't get the cover open, the button will not push in.................

I believe that would be the noise liberated by all those little holes in the rotors.

By the way, can I safely assume that the ball bearings are for pelting wayward automobile drivers?

Sounds like these balls are another must have accessory for the Chicken.  Thanks for the idea.   [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif]

I wonder if Paintballs at 70mph would work?

But, on occasion, I would take them out to roll them around to relieve my tensions, and perhaps drop them once in awhile.

They don't bounce like a good ol' ball bearing.

Old trick.  It may be "low tech" but it sure is effective... [smiley=laugh.gif]
