Back home from a HOT weekend on the river at CLUB HOG. It was great to see so many bikes from all over. I was happy to be the only blue FXDWG3 . I saw 3 FXDWG2's one was in the bike show.
I had a chance to demo 9 different models over the 2 days.
The Screamin Eagle Fat Boy was well done, the handling was much better than the standard issue. The 103 had gobs of torque , but not as much as I thought it would.
I think with a different cam and pipes it would be even more entertaining.
The Street Glide was very SWEET. The new Harmon Kardon audio ROCKS.
The new softails with the 200 rears were a mixed blessing . In the straights they have great traction, in the twisties they are slow to roll over , I think for this frame a 180 is as far as I'd go for all around handling.
The new Dyna's are great , the 6 speed is very nice , smooth and the reduced clutch pull is a plus . The 49mm forks are great. My favorite was the Street BoB . It was the most fun I've had on a motorcycle in 35 years! Nimble , quick , and in the black denim , just filled with a great vibe. With a hot 95 in it it would be the ultimate Toy , not an all day rider to be sure , but a great play bike.
