Last night when I got home there was a big box sitting at my front door. After investigating it I found out my girl had gotten me a J&S Jack for my birthday. I put it together and then realized that I have a center stand on my bike and wondered if this jack would work. Well I played with it and got it lined up the best I could and jacked up the bike. It seemed to be steady on the jack but part of the lift was on my center stand bracket underneath. Has anyone got this jack and has anyone had any problems with it with a centerstand on a 08SEUC?

I use a jack from a chevy van 06 I think and it works great on the lift.  Fits right in the cross member.

My jack is from a Toyota and also fits perfectly in the cross brace of the '06, but BEWARE the '09's: the bottom cross brace on the frame is different, and not as substantial as the previous frames! You MUST us a wider foot on the top plate of the jack for the new frames!

It sounds like you have a 4-caster free standing hydraulic lift as a present and not just a lifting jack to be used on another lift table, correct?

If this is not the case and this is only a jack to lift the rear wheel of the bike off the top of a lift table, then disregard the following ranting.      

I've seen, for the 4-caster lifts, a set of cradles that will locate only on the frame tubes on the underside of the frame rather than just being big flat plates from side to side of the frame.  You may think about having something like this designed for your specific application with the bike center stand.  The cradle posts are usually just a half pieces of pipe with a rubber coating that the frame tubes will sit into.  This will allow this type of lift to work on a non flat frame as well.

On my old FLH Shovelhead, I have made a set of spacers to lever the frame on my caster lift.  This really helped to stabilize the bike on the lift.  So far I've never tied down my bike on the caster lift and I've been able to pull front or rear wheels without it becoming too tippy.

There might even be some website that sells the adapter cradles as universal parts.

Dan yes it is a 4 castor Hyd Lift. J&S states on an ultra that you should locate the lift towards the rear of the frame. Well at the rear of my frame is where I have my centerstand support bracket which adds a 1/4 thickness below the frame. If I go forward of the Centerstand support bracket then the forward support on the lift is forward of the frame were it curves up. I guess I can add more thickness to the forward support on the lift to compensate for the thickness of the centerstand support bracket.

I had the same problem and got rid of the center stand, the only other thing you can do is put the jack on the center stand legs and build up spacers on the the front of the J&S jack, the problem is you may have a stability issue and need to strap the bike to the jack.
