Duece you seem like the wealthy type - I think you should do whatever it takes to make it work and let the rest of us copy you !!
I mean New Jersey?? Houses there cost a million !! What could the bars cost ?
Have a set of risers and bars hand made ( have them make a couple sets while they're at it)

Resurecting an old thread! :pineapple:

Ok,

I bought a set of WideGlide 1 1/4" mini ape handlebars.
yes, the knurling is offset, but because we have the mini tach in the middle of the risers you don't really notice it. :2vrolijk_21:
and they bolted up just fine for me.

my next issue is the hydraulic clutch master clyinder.....
since the SE bars are tapered at the ends, my hydraulic clutch will not bolt up to the wideglide bars! :o

solution??????
the clutch master clyinders on the '09 SE springer and Fatbob have been redesigned.
they now resemble the brake master clyinder and have the nesassary clearance for standard 1 1/4" handlebars!  :bananarock:

the price of the revised clutch reservoir is $150.00 :2vrolijk_21:

The reason I'm going with the '07 wideglide bars is because I don't like the center width of every other mini ape out there, the smallest ones I found were 10" at the center, and that looks like crap on the narrow springer front end.

all I need now is a wire extension kit and some new cables! ;D

and NO, Beerman, I'm not wealthy by ANY means......
this bar swap IS my winter project, I can't afford to buy everything all at once, I will be buying a few pieces here and there over the winter to complete it! :2vrolijk_21:

Duece, you're absolutely right about most apes being too wide at the base for a Springer. That is one of the issues I have with the black apes rheiner put on his bike. Way too wide at the base.

actually Wild 1 has a 2 piece adapter that goes over their bar and increases the bar to 1.25 and it fits in the stock CVO riser

Has anybody tried these adapters?  I bought new risers but I would rather go with the stock risers with the 12.5" apes that I have.

they work just fine.
Rheiner has them on his '08 and '09 SE Springers. :2vrolijk_21:

I have the same problem  ,want the bars a little higher without changing cables, wiring, etc. Think I am going to machine a 1" {alum} spacer for my risers. After you polish it,you won't notice it.  ????? Could put it between the riser and the spacer. ??????

Million???  that's pocket change!  There are multi million dollar houses here! :2vrolijk_21:
although, I don't live in anything CLOSE to costing even a million........

I guess there are no million dollar houses in Ohio huh????    ::)  just a bunch of double wide trailers? :bananarock:

I just received my new hydraulic clutch reservoir today.
I bolted it onto the new wideglide bars and it fits perfectly, just like the brake reservior!

I'm going to order the new cables this week, I think I know how long the new cables need to be but I just want to double check.
what is the best way to measure for the new cables?????

Cables ordered. :2vrolijk_21:

I went with the Magnum Sterling Chromite II cables.

I ordered:

48" for the front brake.
66" for the Hydraulic clutch.
32.5" for the Throttle/ Idle cables.

the bars are on, here are a few pics!

I think the throttle/idle cables are a little short, but they work just fine, they don't bind when turned to the left...
I'm going to call Magnum and see if I can return them for longer ones.

other than that, the bars are PERFECT!  (for me) :2vrolijk_21:
