A BIG THANK YOU TO HD-DUDE.........
« on: March 08, 2009, 12:25:38 PM »

I have to say that I've always thought the people here were very nice to commune with on the Internet.  I know that lots of you have developed almost a family of friends that you actually meet and party with from time to time and all the organized rides etc.  But there are some of us that are kind of friendly and try to be helpful but not all that social.

I think I fall into that category.  I post and try to add where I can, but due to my "life", or lack there of, I probably won't be riding along and meeting up with many of you.

But I digress from the topic of this thread....

Some of you may have read my on going novel about my new bike project, boardtrack turning into a custom of sorts, so you know I've changed my mind a few times etc.

I recently posted in the [/]WANTED TO BUY[/b] forum that I was looking for a plain black EVO style oil filter adapter.  It wasn't no time at all and HD-Dude posted that he thought he might have one.  Then he posted again very quickly, is this what you're looking for and a picture.  I replied yes and asked all the normal stuff, how much, what about shipping, his address to send money and that I wasn't in a big hurry.

I didn't hear from him in a day or two so I e-mailed and asked again.

He replied with, "Dan;
No worries on the part, it has been around collecting dust for some time. For the filter adapter you'll need HD part number 26352-85.

Enjoy and great pics of your project.  :)

So I responded again with a BIG thank you and asked again about money and shipping.

On Friday I had a package on my doorstep from the BIG HD-DUDE himself.  It was my new oil filter adapter.

I'm not sure what to do about this, other than to start with by sending out this big thank you so everyone can see what a big guy HD-Dude is and how he responds to just a question of looking to buy......

HD-Dude, thank you very much and all I can say is I owe you a big one on this.

Here's a picture of it in place on my new project.

Here's one of my happy family that HD-Dude has added his own personal touch to, which I greatly appreciate.

So, just to recap, HD-Dude, you're the man of the week for me.

I really thank you for your generosity and help with my project bike...

Dan;

Your very welcome, I was trying to remember where that came from....it was my 96 FLHR. That one was shelved when the wife bought me the chrome version. It has been through four moves since then and would probably made its way into the recycle bin at some point and time. I am glad you will get some use out of it.... By the way, that Road King had about 90HP and 95ft/lbs of torque in her, not bad for an 80" Evo 8)

Just one more thank and I'll sign off for tonight.

I didn't get much done today on the project though.  Spent my time trying to figure out how to box in the inside of the oil tank.  Lots of cutting an fitting without any success.

I did get the leg guard finished for the side pipe.  I'll try to get them posted and uploaded tomorrow.

I'll put the old filter adapter to good use.

Hell, I rode out from Ohio just to get some speakers, a tire and an oil change.   :)  Seemed like a good enough reason at the time.  :D Totally impressed and pleased w/ Jim's shop and work. And Ernie provided the entertainment.

So JC, what are we doing while you're in town?

We'll be around for a little while.  I think we're just going to drop the bike at Jim's and pick it up next weekend.  Then we're going to head back up in the hills just to take a ride or drive (not sure if I'll bring my bike and ride two up after we drop hers off or if I'll be in my truck).

Are you guys up for a ride up to Valley Springs area?  We could come over on Friday night, drop her bike then take off Sat. morning?  Let me know.......

Ernie........I think we just hijacked Jim's thread.   :nixweiss:

Just wanted to thank  Jim again for taking care of me on short notice and that I appreciate all of his input and advise. Really glad he pointed out swing arm bushings and that he could take care of the work via my extended warrenty. I wasn't aware he could do warrenty work. Also looking forward to a set of those monster spark plug wires to eliminate a little low end ping and a little more go-go. Thanks again Jim, I really appreciate the quality-care you give to me and everyone you deal with. Professional with integrity  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: what a consept. Thanks...... :orange:.....
