Andy,
Currently the 550 offers XM radio, but the 660 will not. I also see that you are in England and I don't believe there is XM service in England. What XM radio is, is satellite radio that you can choose a station (genre of music) that you like and no matter where you travel you'll pick this station up. Unlike as you're travelling from city to city normal radio stations fade out XM radio will continue since it's from a satellite.

Firedood is right, there is unfortunately no XM in Europe! So you are not missing anything on the 660.
By the way: I like the E-Street channel (only Bruce Springsteen).

Personally I think the newer hardware platform is the better choice. The 550 maybe much cheaper after the 660 hits the streets, though.

Still to early for me to comment on the 660. Until they hit the public and get some feedback from people using them I can't say one way or the other. It has some (new) additional features, but it is lacking some of the features that the Zumo 550 has currently.

I agree, that it's still too early to tell... But I think these really may be geared to two differrent levels of buyers, with the features that are missing on the 660 from the 550.  I'm wondering if you'll continue to see the 550 priced as a "Top of the line" product and the 660 become more economical once it's out for a few months.

Garmin has a detailed comparison chart available:

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare.do?cID=133&compareProduct=15000&compareProduct=414

Interestingly the 550 does carry not price anymore.

Anyone have any ideas/thoughts on what's going to happen with the XM radio subscriptions...? :-\...looks as if Sirius/XM is getting ready to file bankrupcy or worse.  Main reason is not being able to meet debt req'ments/reduced new car sales and subscribers 'bailing'.  >:( spyder

Up in Canada I'm hearing we'll be up chits creek when it happens. Which stands to reason. Just like any other company that folds owners of said product are usually screwed. Secured creditors come first.
