Pattern of CB
« on: March 03, 2009, 10:31:43 PM »

I do plexi forming here and there and finally broke down and did a pattern on the CB 14 inch Dark. The pattern is an exact silhouette traced on the bike, folded in half and traced to show the difference between the left and right side. A picture is worth a thousand words right? The bottom line is that some of us have a damn good eye. I'm not sure if 1/4 inch is that critical an issue for me. I will ave to look and ponder a bit. I guess I am surprised the pattern was off. I'm sure adjustments are being made.  :drink:

Highway, I didn't want to say anything before, because I thought it might be camera angle, but if you put a straight edge across the top of the radio bezel on the picture you posted it appears (And you have proven) that there is a noticeable difference very similar to mine. Its a small amount at the edge, but because of the sharp slope look where the right Apex winds up in comparison to the left, the varience L up R down  is very noticeably closer to an inch.

Right dartman. The shape has a shift or twist, high to the left, low to the right. CB I would guess already solved the problem. I could give an opinion on a cause but that would be unfair. best to let CB take it from here. :drink:

Good job.  Mine was picked up yesterday afternoon, probably 4 or 5 days before Joe sees it.  Yes, the critical difference is from the bottom to the beginning of the first curve (your blue line).  That is where mine was off 5/8's.  I have no doubt they will make it right.

I should add that everything else about the shield is first rate.  Absolutely no optical distortion, nice polished edges.
