CVO Down under no more after 09 ??
« on: March 11, 2009, 06:40:49 AM »

Before I make the statement the background :o
In January I inquired about the availability of 09 ultra and was told they where not available by two dealers dealer one said because HD still had 08's unsold
They inquired further and about 4 days later advised they would probably take orders in 2 months
April
Received phone call from dealer and 4 days later email from the other that silver 09 available to order.
I did the deal thinking it may take a couple of months to arrive from US
the day after I asked if they knew arrival date and to my suprise the answer ws 7 to 10 days max ;D
Should be here Thursday or Friday (this all done by sales Manager)

Several days later at a social event I was talking to prinipal about this and that (business, economy, life in general ) so he was not trying to rush me into a deal as it was already done
He made a comment that astounded me
"No more CVO's after 09"
WHAT :o
"No more CVO's after 09"
YOU MEAN AUST / EURO MODELS OR THE LOT
"Don't know will find out"

I can understand MoCo not importing stock here but if models are made you think you could order and wait a few months :nixweiss:
It will be interesting to see the outcome.
the 09 Glide is not available in OZ
Have they sold enough in the US to justify production ?? or are bigger changes afoot

Yep got the same story.

I picked up my new 09 Ruby Red SEEG last week after placing a deposit in August last year. Story was that this was the last of the CVO's to Aus. Then in Victoria on the weekend another story of a "relaunch" of CVO in Aus in '11.

Will have to wait and see

All this could be from the marketing dept. at moco, just like the Chevy Camaro, Remember, no more production of the camero, gone for good, And now, THERE BACK, a few years later, limited Production harder to get, Value goes up. New and Used

Maybe they are just dropping it for the one year (2010) to play catchup due to the effects from this recession. My local dealer still had a showroom full of 08 bikes a month or so back. It could be a temporary pullback to keep the company afloat thru difficult times.

Well, some years ago the Company told that the springers will not be built in the future! So everyone tried to get one
in Germany. Me Too!Than they built it in a little differen way again!
Its only marketing!!
They built what the customer wants to buy

Imho, if they think they'll sell 'em, they'll be available.
