fuel line leak
« on: August 12, 2009, 10:15:49 AM »

O3 SE Roadking began to run rough, just felt different and came on real slow. i told dealer the fuel pump sounded funny on keyup but dealer said hd wont fix it til it doesnt work. (i have 7 year warranty). well the rough running at low speed and idle became ugly and i stopped back. when dealer got to it they couldnt start the bike. it sounded like the compensator nut was loose, thats how bad the motor shook when it did start. good news it was starving for fuel, hole worn in fuel line in gas tank. no more gurggle at start up comp nut was fine too. just a positve story for ya

Pin hole leaks were a common problem and yep, just gets worse until it doesn't run. Did they change the fuel filter while they were in there?

Sure did. The part is about $40 I think. I was going to swap it myself, but I had a bad tach too, so I just hand them handle under the extended warranty. If you have the manual, it's not too hard.
