andrews 50hg cams
« on: March 15, 2009, 01:54:55 PM »

I've searched all the cam information on this site and can't find the andrews 50hg mentioned anywhere. One of the dealers I talked to and belive to be the best in my area suggested these with more compression and head work which I'm going to do. I read all about the SE 204's and  I was thinkimg the SE 251 or the woods 7 would be better but dealer says they have done a couple with the 50hg and really like the way they perform. They are going in a 07 SEUC.

Thanks

JDO, you will find that i have a problem between my brain and fingers. wasnt jammin ya man, was trying to point out the limited application. not many will go to that trouble without going bigger and working heads.

sorry if you took it any other way. you were just relaying info!

I agree with both of you I'm doing the increase in compression and having the heads worked over and thats why I don't think the 50hg are the cams I want in this build. Now I'm trying to decide between the se251 and the woods 7 gear drive. Can some of you guys that have similar builds give me some ideas on how your bikes have changed in throttle responce at different rpm or pros and cons on these cams. My riding style is  is on the hard side the Rinehart's don't start sounding good till around 3000 and I do a lot of shifthing above 4000.

Thanks for any input

Just finished a set of Street Port heads for an 07 110 and it pulled 98hp 118tq. Dealer shut it down at 4,500, talked about hurting the fresh motor, doesn't get that a controlled run on the dyno breaks them in and the customer gets a finished bike LOL . It has crap pipes longshots. Cam TW7 compression 9.9/1. There is 15 more hp in there with a decent pipe and the dyno run up to redline, plus a decent tune.

Just finished my latest warranty go-around with new heads, CR, and crankcase center bolt on my 07 FLHTCUSE2. After a lot of research and talking to a few respectable engine builders (R&R in Manchester, NH, GMR in Phoenix, AZ), I was convinced to go with the SE251 cams and H.P.Inc 51mm Throttle body. Glad I did. 105 HP, 110 Tq with 80+ Tq from 2000 rpm and up. Nice relatively flat torque curve which is what I was mostly after, with a lot more top end than stock.
