I do love her, but thats what I get for doing a impulse buy with a broken leg!

I needed something to do over the summer and winter to keep my mind from going crazy! Figure that it cant be that bad of a ride since so many others own them. I had the dealer take off the rear shifter, as I hated it on every harley I have had.
The extensions are coming in, as it is just too tight to sit on and quite uncomfortable. i didnt know the bike was a inch lower (I would be curious the hight compared to a softail heritage)
What confuses me is all the break pedal I talk so say the pedal only extends a inch over stock??? (ezbrake etc) So far the break pedal is the only thing that annoys me....
She is in the shop now getting the motolights and air-horn wired and all the other re-call goodies... I cant wait to show her off here once I get her back... The LED's are so damm bright, that the dealer was impressed!!

Scott, I'm 6'-1" and with the stock running boards I find for around town etc, the running boards are quite comfy. Of course everyone is different and some legs bend one way and others just don't bend well at all.
The rear edge of the brake pedal pad is at the front leading edge of the running board. Do you ride with your foot further forward than that with your toe under the pad?
Do you have highway pegs installed? Without highway pegs, I would be lost on this thing. And don't even try to use those dumb foot pads on the crash bar. Again, my legs don't bend that well to reach them without being bowlegged.
I ride mainly two up and with the rear air shocks at about 25 psi. I don't ride too aggressively, but when I lead our group I can go faster than most want to ride on our winding roads. I was always hitting the running boards on my '76 FLH. I've thought about going to standard length Progressive rear shocks on the '08 SERK, but have not because the way I understand it, the front should be raised at the same time and I'm not about to do that right now.
A lot of guys have complained about the ride and quite frankly I have found my stock SERK to be very nice. I'm also quite aware that things can always be better for a price, but compared to my old two up bike, the '76 FLH, the SERK is great. They say ignorance is bliss, well I'm very fat and happy with the SERK right now.
From my point of view, I still am not too sure of your exact difficulty with the stock brake pedal / running board arrangement. But if it's your primary means of foot location for all your riding, highway pegs will fix that quickly.
Just so other might not make the same mistake I did, as you all know, '07 & '08 SERK's
do not come with BSR running boards. You all saw what I did about that and my wife and I just love it. The problem was that I had asked her if they were something she might want and she said no. I bought
another pair of Ironside foot pegs and then the mounts to do the highway pegs, again a major improvement in riding comfort for me. Guess what, my wife decides she would like the running boards. So even with 20% discount on the parts and about $525 later, we had the very nice adjustable BSR running boards. One more guess what.... Now I have an extra set of Ironside foot pegs and BSR mounting brackets. The Ironside pegs without mounting brackets for the crash bar list at $149. So now they just sit in plastic protection wrap and collect dust.
So if anyone is going to do the matching highway pegs and might like to upgrade to the BSR running boards, don't buy highway pegs before you do the rear running boards.
Scott, again good luck with your new ride and I do hope you can get it tuned to you.
